Easy Way to Remove a Tele Output Jack

By Litos

If you’ve ever had to reinstall a Tele’s output jack, you know it’s a major pain. There’s no room to push it from inside the control cavity, and you also have to keep the washer in place. Well, I came across a nifty tip to do this pretty quickly: get an old string (the thinner the better), and make a loop with the jack and washer in it. Close it by threading the string through the ball end, and let the string come out through the body’s side hole. Now, just fish for the thingy! Once in place, cut the loop and pull the string. Voilà! The jack is in place, and you didn’t scrape your fingers trying to get it in place through the unfinished wood!
